About this event
Phil Longden will be leading a trip to circumnavigate Hat Island on March 20th next Friday. A maximum of 8 paddlers will be on this trip. Please respond after careful consideration of the mileage and crossing distance.
This is rated a level 4 because of the two 3+ mile crossings and limited landings. Due to the large fetch the trip would be canceled by winds greater than 10 knots or heavy rain.
We will be launching from Edgewater Beach Park near Mukilteo Ferry landing at 11:30am on Friday March 20th. Please arrive early enough to get your gear to the water and have a shore meeting b/4 the launch.
This trip will be at least 11 N.M. and longer if we see whales. We have planned on a speed of 2.75 mph.
We can stop on the north end of Hat Island for a break. (no facilities).
All standard safety gear should be included with your gear. If you have a VHF radio please bring it. Drysuit or full wetsuit is required. We will return by 3:30 at the earliest and later if we see whales.
